Becky, thanks for commenting. There are more 'guru' comments in my response to your comment on my other post...wow, does that sentence make sense? :-)

I have a relationship with God, and I do find it VERY refreshing that you post a link to Biblical wisdom. These days it seems that people respect wisdom from every other source besides the Bible. Thanks again for that!

Please comment anytime!

HI Buzz,

It's because they are all just a piece of a whole. Of course you ask them and they might say they have the answers and maybe they do to "one" question. I got out of all this searching for the next new information stuff too.

I think it is good you are searching, just finding stuff that doesn't fulfill. I am now done searching. I have a link with an all knowing connection. No big secret or anything. Try it out if you want to, NOT religion. I HATE religion. NOT what your own mind and every other mind has told you. ONLY you and one verse. ONE, no others. Read up and see where you go. Jeremiah 29:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=jeremiah%2029:13&version=NKJV

If not that's cool too. Just letting you know what worked for me. Every person is an individual and an individual approach works for them. : )

Buz, Bravo to you for having the courage to post this topic! Personally I have never followed guru's... they are after all people just like you and me... and they do not have all the answers.... they just think they do.

People are complex and complicated, and growth is a personal journey. I feel guru's focus on people's fears and long held desires... and desperate people will follow anyone or anything to get "fixed".

I feel the self-help industry is out of control... and people who themselves are troubled are putting out a shingle proclaiming they have the answer to life. There is danger in this.

A person needs to be discerning and wise... when seeking truth and wanting to heal... and be aware that growth is a life time process... not something to be read in a book, or listening to a guru's cd and within weeks you are healed. Life and the universe just doesn't work that way. People have different lessons this life time around... and the get rich quick message just isn't the answer for everyone. It is however... the gurus who are getting rich... and more than likely laughing all the way to the bank!
Blessings,
Victoria
