Personally I have never followed guru's... they are after all people just like you and me... and they do not have all the answers.... they just think they do. People are complex and complicated, and growth is a personal journey. I feel guru's focus on people's fears and long held desires... and desperate people will follow anyone or anything to get "fixed". I feel the self-help industry is out of control... and people who themselves are troubled are putting out a shingle proclaiming they have the answer to life. There is danger in this. A person needs to be discerning and wise... when seeking truth and wanting to heal... and be aware that growth is a life time process... not something to be read in a book, or listening to a guru's cd and within weeks you are healed. Life and the universe just doesn't work that way. People have different lessons this life time around... and the get rich quick message just isn't the answer for everyone.
