I have a natural inclination to downplay my own success. It’s a trait leftover from my childhood, when I was taught not to brag. So, I tend to soften my successes.
But that won’t do you any good.
You need to know about my success. You need to know how I achieve it. You need to find the success clues and apply them in your own situation.
The time for downplaying success is over, because, if I am not successful, you need to move on and read someone else. If I haven’t figured out some basic principles for my own life, you don’t need my influence and teaching. If I am not willing to stand up and say, “I’m more than just a nice guy; I’ve figured out some things that can help you live better,” then I’m not really worth your time. That’s simply the way it is.
You and I are not here to brag, that’s true. But we are here to learn, improve, and accomplish. Because, we can learn plenty of theory, but if the learning doesn’t lead to accomplishment, what good is that knowledge?
Consider these questions:
Why are you reading this blog?
Why do you read other blogs, articles and books?
What do you want to do with this information?
Even though we pursue information, we are not really after information as an end. We are after a better life. We are longing for more love, more money, more freedom, more fulfillment. We are longing for that elusive something that makes us say, “Ahhhh, here it is at last! Now, I have arrived!”
We are looking for SUCCESS.
We long to live a successful life.
And that’s what I intend to discuss in my next few blog posts.
As we discuss success, please keep these three truths in mind:
1. SUCCESS leaves clues.
2. SUCCESS can be recreated.
3. SUCCESS occurs one success at a time.
If you think you’ve heard this all before…if you think you know what I’m going to share…you may be right. But you need to ask yourself one very important question: “Am I on a path to success?”
If you’re not, then pay attention. You either need knowledge, application, or action. And, over my next few blog posts, I intend to discuss all three.
But be forewarned - the key is action!
And I’m not talking about taking action by buying something from me. I haven’t refined this information into a product yet. I’m not trying to sell you anything.
If you read these posts, you’ll be getting the real, raw, off-the-cuff deal. I’m teaching on the fly, strictly by the seat of my pants.
But the key for you is the willingness to take fearless action.
You’ve got to be willing to get up and do something. If you’re not willing, stop right now. Don’t read any further. You are wasting your time.
That may sound a little harsh coming from me. If you’ve read much of my teaching, you know that I am very open and loving. Love is the reason I do what I do.
But it’s time for a little tough love. If I really love you (which I do), I can’t be satisfied if you are living beneath your potential. It’s like the message of my favorite Mary Chapin Carpenter song,
Click on that link and listen to the words. Resolve that you are ready to fly. Refuse to settle for less.
And be on the lookout for my next post.

Your wisdom always helps me, Buzz! Thank you!
Buz, You are always so sincere and honest and I am so looking forward to reading your blogs… thank you so very much for sharing…. Love… Victoria Silva
Buz,
I feel SO close to what you say!
Yes, we’ve been taught that we mustn’t brag, but while bragging with no reason is wrong, acknowledging our value and success is not only honest and fair, but also mandatory if we want to fly and help the others do that.
Thanks for your precious words, as always.
Ale
Hi Buz,
This was awesome! There is such a genuine-ness in what you are writing here, and the way you are teaching. I really do believe you are doing this out of love. And when you asked “Am I on the path to success”, after reading this post, I would answer that a huge YES!, as I have always been on the path to success. I just downplayed it, like you mentioned, playing small, not bragging too much, and so on. But honestly, I think we all get lifted up much more by those of us who proclaim breakthroughs than by those who hold back their glories. Thank you, again, Buz, for reminding me and reminding all of us of our potential, our own greatness.
You are a blessing,
Todd
Love Buzzing the universe,
Great insight Buz. You have reached some meaningful plateaus in life and this blog has shown your impact on others. I will watch and enjoy the unfolding . Your focus is looking clear. Can I share what you see?
Grateful for your giving nature,
Love Bubba B
I think part of the reason people don’t brag about their success is because they have got so used to being shot down in flames by other people or finding that their so-called friends have deserted them.
It becomes safer to keep our successes to ourself so that other people don’t feel small around us because they have not achieved the same level of success or who are not happy in their lives.
Perhaps we need a place where we can safely shout our Successes from the rooftops and know that we are surrounded by people who genuinely feel pleased for us and who know that we will also celebrate their success with them.
Great post. Buz
With abundant blessings.

Thanks Buz,
The last few months have been a bit of a nightmare for me, infact I kept hoping I would wake up! My business failed and I felt I had failed. To top it all I got married 3 weeks ago and today I find myself filing for a seperation agreement leading to a divorce. What do I tell my kids – sorry guys dad screwed up again. It hasn’t been easy for them either with their mum and my first wife dying from cancer 6 years ago but they seem to get on with it. I can never be sure exactly what is going on in their minds but they just seem to cope.
It’s a lesson I learned at the weekend after spending time with my 2 boys who are just 10 and 7. It doesn’t matter what life throws at you as long as you don’t give up hope.
I really don’t know what I would have done, even over the last couple of months if it wasn’t for my kids and people in the world like you Buz.
I know I can go from dragging to bragging and dying to flying because people like you are there to give me hope and inspiration.
Thank you.
I’m blessed by all of the comments. Paul, if I can help you in any way, please let me know.
Buz
Thanks again Buz,
There is something that you might br able to do.
Every seminar or as Pat likes to call them unseminar is usually somewhere in the US, be it New York, Dallas or LA. For most people who don’t live in the US and are still on the lower rungs of the ladder, these seminars are almost always hard to get to. The cost of a flight alone is prohibitive never mind accomodation and other expences.
Nobody ever seems to venture further afield. Scotland least of all. Maybe that’s because there is not a big population. However, I am sure that if you and maybe Pat, Dr Joe Vitale and Mark Ryan were to think about it, people would come from England, Ireland and Wales to attend such a seminar. People might even come in from the closer European nations like France, Holland and Germany.
Scotland is a wonderful country with some of the most beautiful and tranquil settings on the planet. Eckhard Tolle even held some retreats here in Findhorn Bay near Inverness.
If such a thing were possible, I would be more than glad to help organise things here and set up the venue amongst other things. The only reward I would ask is that I could attend the seminar.
Maybe I am reaching to far but unless I ask I will never know.
In any case, keep up the good work Buz and keep those wonderful blog post coming.
Kindest regards
Paul.
Paul, that’s a good idea and well worth considering.
Thanks!
Buz
